ENERGY STAR® Rebates for Retailers

The Manufactured Housing Research Alliance (MHRA) will pay retailers a rebate for each new ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured home they sell in southern California or Clark County, Nevada.

Retailers are eligible for the following rebates:

  • $400 for an ENERGY STAR home equipped with a gas furnace and properly sized cooling equipment (if installed) (only available for homes sold into Southern California Edison's service area)
  • $750 for an ENERGY STAR home with an electric furnace and equipped with a properly sized heat pump (only available for homes sold into either Southern California Edison's or Nevada Power Company's service areas)

In the past, these rebates were paid to the home manufacturer, but the manufacturers have together agreed that the rebate should go to the retailer.

5 Steps to Collecting the Rebate

Step 1  Verify that the homebuyer is an electric service customer of Southern                    California Edison or Nevada Power Company

Step 2  Order the home from an ENERGY STAR qualified manufacturer

Step 3  Select and order the appropriate heating/cooling equipment

Step 4  After the home is installed, use the Site Installation Checklist to verify             completion of the ENERGY STAR installation items

Step 5  Submit a completed rebate application to MHRA

To help retailers sell ENERGY STAR homes, MHRA will provide at no cost sales and marketing materials, including a sales DVD, posters, brochures, window decals, site signage and other promotional materials.
