AEP WV & VA Incentive Program for ENERGY STAR Manufactured Homes
for ENERGY STAR Manufactured Homes
APC West Virginia and Virginia Service Area
American Electric Power Co., Inc. (AEP), through its subsidiary Appalachian Power Company, is offering incentives for energy efficient manufactured homes sited in West Virginia and Virginia. Home manufacturing plants can receive $650 for each ENERGY STAR home certified on or after June 1, 2014 for West Virginia, and December 16, 2015 for Virginia. Additionally, home retailers can receive $750 for each ENERGY STAR home. To be eligible, homes must be electrically heated, equipped with a heat pump and connected to either Appalachian Power or AEP/Wheeling Power.
While the incentive goes to the manufactured home builder and retailer, the real beneficiary is the customer, who will realize thousands of dollars in savings over the life of the home. ENERGY STAR homes also are more comfortable, quieter, require less maintenance and are likely to have higher resale value.
